Get back that glow!
As we head into the slower, cooler months, it’s time to focus on self-care and undo all the damage our skin has endured during summer. If you’re on a quest to turn back the hands of time, read on to see what Lina Phetla, the manager of @Sandton Spa, recommends.
“As clichéd as it may sound, you’ve got to stay hydrated!” says Lina, sharing her advice on taking care of your skin in the long-term. “Just like your body, your skin needs water to be healthy. And even though we’re spending a little less time in the sun over the winter months, it’s still important to apply sunscreen on top of your moisturizer to protect your skin from the damaging and aging effects of the sun.”
Lina also recommends cleansing, toning and moisturizing daily, exfoliating and applying a face mask twice a week. “In the coming months you’ll also need to use a richer moisturizer to give the skin intense moisture, as we all know how dry Joburg can be in the winter.”
She also highlights the following specialized treatments at @Sandton Spa, both of which have an immediate anti-ageing effect on your skin:
Aesthetics Dermabrasion Collagen skin treatment
A powerful skin dermabrasion (or exfoliation) that uses surgical grade stainless steel needles of only 0.15mm. This creates nanochannels on the epidermis layer of the skin that facilitate perfect absorption of the active ingredients applied. This procedure is non-invasive with no downtime, leaving you with perfectly smooth and radiant skin.
This facial rejuvenates the skin by removing the outermost layer of the dead skin cells and vellus hair. It reduces fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars while leaving the skin smooth, supple, vibrant, and prepared for skin peels and active ingredient penetration.
